There have been many studies that demonstrate that music can help dull chronic pain. Our psychologist friends like to do experiments to quantify such effects. Applying a cold patch while playing the participants favorite music works like a charm. Bitter Sweet


Honey bees have been in the news frequently in the last year or two. The press has been much more sympathetic about their colony collapse disorder problem than when the Africanized or ‘Killer’ bee scare was in full swing about fifteen years ago. Now more and more of us realized how much we need them around so that we can get our fruit, nuts and other plant products so we are less likely to pick up a newspaper and start lashing out as soon as we see something yellowish flying about.  Please  read more@ http://jimgoodwinbooks.com/

Prey, Who’s Whose?


Whether we learn about hunting from TV documentaries or from being out in the field, we all understand from an early age that any sudden movement will cause panic and the prey creature to run. Also at least as important is that the predator should stay downwind of its prey else it will go hungry. The nose is an excellent warning device.
